South Central Breakfast Ride: Wednesday, August 19, 9:00 AM

Post by roginoz »

We have another new destination this week, in Florence. David recommended the Town & County Cafe as a good breakfast spot, so we'll head east and a bit north. Apparently there is more than one cafe in Florence; this is the one on Highway 77.

Florence is only about an hour from Wichita, so it isn't too far for a breakfast ride. Right now the Weather Channel is predicting only a ten percent chance of rain, so it looks like we'll have a decent day to ride. Highway 77, or 177 will make a good “long way home” if you're looking for some additional miles.

Special thanks to Brian for carrying the book during my recent absences, and to Charlie for writing the ride reports in addition to posting his usual fine photos. Between the Colorado and Indianapolis MotoGP trips, Steve and I put over 5000 miles on the bikes during the past thirty days.

I'll bring along some t-shirts next week, in case anyone needs to spruce up their wardrobe. I believe we still have a few patches left, too.

We had twenty-eight in attendance, on twenty-five bikes. The group was a little better looking than usual, with Shirley and Mona (and one gal who may have been too shy to sign in) playing the roses among the thorns... The bikes traveled 1474 miles (one way) to Florence; some of us traveled a bit farther on the ride home. Check back for Charlie's photos if they're not up yet. I'll get next week's ride posted in a couple of days.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
