South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, June 24, 11:00 AM

It's time for our annual ride to Head Country BBQ; it's been just over a year since we were there. Right now, the weather looks good, so Ponca City is this week's destination. It isn't that far, about eighty miles from Wichita; an hour and a half, give or take a few minutes depending on your route. (The Moundridge crew needs to add forty miles, which doesn't seem to bother them...)

Head Country doesn't open until 11:00, so you early birds may need to do some tire kicking in the parking lot if you arrive too early. I'll have to miss this one, but Brian will have the sign-in book. I hate to miss the BBQ (and deviled eggs...) but I'll be in Arkansas at the Motorcycle Sport Touring Association's national rally. I'll see everyone the following week.

Warm and windy, but otherwise a wonderful ride to Head County BBQ today. Two late arrivals came in as we were leaving, so the count was 26 ROMEO Riders on 25 bikes. We traveled approximately 1980 miles (estimating the late Wichita arrival), which is a decent turnout for the windy warm day.
Roger will likely have a post up by the weekend for next week ride, maybe a cool morning ride.
