I was going to run us to Lila's next week, but the the weather forecast keeps changing. I don't want to commit us to a small place and risk a low turnout, as it can be really costly for the restaurant. We'll revisit Lila's when the weather is a bit more stable.
We had a request to return to True Lies, in El Dorado. El Dorado is close enough to drive if the weather's bad, and far enough for a decent ride if it's good. True Lies is big enough to accommodate a large group if the weather is better than anticipated, but a light turnout won't hurt them like some of our smaller places.
It's a “bar and grill,” but they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They serve breakfast until 11:00, in case you're one of those guys who shows up early; buscuits and gravy, omlettes, eggs, french toast, etc. The lunch menu includes all sorts of burgers and sandwiches, chicken fried steak, steaks, pork chops, chicken, and a lot of other entrees. The Wednesday special is Mexican food. We were there for the first time last November, and the food was good.
Oil Hill Road intersects with the truck route that runs from the west side of El Dorado north and east to Highway 77. True Lies is south of the bypass, on the west side of Oil Hill Road.

We had forty people, on thirty-eight bikes, in El Dorado today. The motorcycles traveled a total of 1573 miles (one-way.) The weather turned out to be excellent, with a bit of wind out on the highway. (So much for the long range forecasts...)
Check back later for Charlie's photos if they're not up when you read this.
I'll have next week's ride posted late Friday or early Saturday; we'll probably be heading north and west.
