It's time for a change in direction, some changes in latitude, changes in attitude as Jimmy Buffett would say, so we're going south/southwest next week.I don't remember the "old" Breck, but the New Breck Cafe is excellent. The menu is extensive and they will also have a spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread and drink special for $7.25. So here are the details:
Lunch 11 AM. They are NOT open for breakfast but she has agreed to open for lunch at 10:30 so for those of you who just can wait for 11, you can eat early.
All this will happen on Wednesday, August 13 at
The New Breck Cafe
Americus, Kansas
The cooler weather, at least as predicted for now, is supposed to last through the middle of next week so it should be a great day for a ride. I stopped here today for pie after having lunch in Colony, and I can truly say that the Kansas landscape is about as beautiful as I've ever seen it. The grass is cow-belly high, deep green, and the ponds are full to the brim. So get up real early, eat breakfast at home and saddle up for an early lunch in the world famous Flint Hills!

Re: Lunch 11 AM, August 13, New Breck Cafe, Americus, Kansas
It turned out to be another perfect day to ride, with no wind and mild temperatures. Several people commented that they had rarely seen Kansas look this beautiful for mid-August, with green the major color of the day, when riding through the countryside! We had 41 ROMEO's take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy another great ROMEO Wednesday lunch. If you missed the ride today I hope you still got to ride somewhere on this gorgeous day. Because it was another great day to be a ROMEO! See you down the road next week. Don't forget Southeast Kansas rides to Moran on Friday.

- Junior joined us (and the Robey's) for lunch after having breakfast with the South Central group. He was also distributing flyers promoting the Fall Rendezvous at the Hub next month. Check out the announcement on the website for all the details. If you haven't gone to one, consider it this fall. The riding is second to none and the camaraderie is top notch. It's a great way to spend a couple of fun days riding in the Ozarks.
