Annual Romeo Picnic June 19, 2013

It once again time for our annual Romeo Picnic. The shelter area in Peter Pan Park, Emporia Kansas is reserved for us on June 19, 2013. There is plenty of parking on the street, picnic tables, bathrooms, play area for kids in case Walt and Capt. Jack get silly again. So come one and all from near or far. Pack a lunch or pick something up in Emporia.

This will also be the "official" (well, as official as any of our ROMEO stuff gets...) weekly lunch ride for the South Central group. I'll post an additional announcement in the "South Central Kansas Weekly Ride" sub-fourm sometime after next week's ride. I've enjoyed the annual picnics the past two years; it's been a great chance to see some of the riders from the other areas. Emporia is fairly centrally located for all of us, so it's a pretty easy ride.

I have contacted both Bad Ol Bern's BBQ and Reeble's South in Emporia and they will be expecting some of us to stop by for sandwiches etc for the picnic.

Bad Ol Bern's is at 20 Commercial St. in Emporia. The have excellent BBQ, PIE, drinks etc.

Reebles South is a grocery store that is a block North and across the street from Bern's at 115 Commercial ST. They have a nice in store deli with fried chicken etc., fresh made sandwiches, treats of various kinds and of course anything you might need from a regular grocery store. Both these places are just a few blocks from the park to make it easy for guys or gals without saddle bags.
