Nelson's Landing, Leonardville, KS

The combined Central & East ROMEO ride on Wednesday, April 29th 2009, will visit Nelson's Landing in Leonardville, KS. The owners of the restaurant are Alan & Kim Nelson's, the parent of Green Bay Packer and former K-State star Jordy Nelson and K-State Women's Basketball player Kelsey Nelson.

The Nelson's purchased the building just two years ago and now are serving up to 350 patrons each Friday night. The first building opened is decorated with the memorabilia from Jordy and Kelsey, along with sports stars from local Leonardville area. The second store front opened on the north side of the building is decorated with agricultural signs from John Deere and IH donated and decorated by the community. This room is used for overflow from the main facility and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. The third store front opened on the south side of the restaurant and is used is used as a community banquet hall. All three stories are connected by internal hallways and can seat approximately 150 patrons.

The Nelson's are farmers from just south of Leonardville and all the beef used in the restaurant are from the Nelson farm. Our local motorcycle club, the Blue Valley Riders, visit Nelson's Landing several times a year. The Nelson's relies on patrons traveling from distance cities to fill their restaurant. It''s alway the great food that keeps you coming back.
