Sticky: Google Map of ROMEO Lunch Spots

Post by shoresr »

Above is a link to a partial list of the places the ROMEO's have gone to lunch, both Central (Lindsborg, "green flags") and East (Wakarusa, "blue flags"), S Central (Wichita "red flags") and KC "yellow flags. The earliest that has been reported is Gay & Mae's Tavern, Williamsburg,KS 9/27/06. Play with the map you can't hurt it. The top two on the left side are the rides for upcoming rides. Click on their name or flag and it will open a box that gives you the address and you can even get directions to the place from your home. You can make the map larger or smaller by move the bar up and down on the thing that looks like a "thermometer". (Left click and hold to move around on the map)

Can you believe we have been so many places? I think I counted over 100!! There is a place on most of the sites to make a review, feel free to make a comment.

Thank you, Richard and Don for a lot of fun times and good food!!

The Google map of all the rides was getting so full and because it contained so much information it was getting very so to load so I put together a map with only the upcoming rides on it Romeo Rides This Week. I will try to keep the most current information on it.

Nice work! This is a great feature with a lot of good information in there! And it looks like a lot of work to compile all of that and type it into Google - thanks for doing that. This could be so useful for people to find the places we are going each week that it would be nice to keep it on top of the list of topics. I will make it a 'sticky' topic so we can always find it.

Great job on the map and I sure don't want to nitpick but Google has Mo's Place Grill & Brew Pub in Beaver in the wrong location. Beaver is 8N and 4E of Hoisington. Great beer, average food but devoid of service, IMHO......Leonard

Thanks Tons for doing this Roger. Anytime any of the riders are planing on anything from a local ride to a serious trip they can click on here and find a good place to go. Someone said they counted 83 places. Both Richard and I have places that haven't been added yet. Also the balloon colour isn't right on a couple of places but it isn't a competition. This lets others see the fun we are having.

Thanks Don, I appreciate the kind words. I know it is not a competition, but if you will tell me the ones that are wrong I will fix them. I just added the location of the combined ride, Nelson's Landing, Leonardsville, KS not next week but April 29, 2009. I am really looking forward to this ride and I know we will have big numbers. If you click on Nelson's Landing on the left side, it will show up on the map and click on "get directions", put in your address and it will tell you how to get there and how long it will take, pretty neat huh ! There have been 6581 views of our Romeo Lunch Spots map. To me that is a very impressive number and just since April. Thank you for using the map and if you haven't used it I hope you will. It can be used to get directions these "off the wall" places that we go, you can create your own route and it will tell you how long it should take you to get there. Last week, 103 Franklin St, Reading, Ks was the first address Don stumped google on. Out of all the little places we have gone that is pretty good.

I am starting a new map to collect your suggestions for places to eat. If you have a place you think we should go send it in and I will put it on the map. I am listing them in two catagories. Green markers are places you know would work and yellow markers are one that you want us to check out. We will use one map for all Romeos (East, central, south, west, etc) and the ride planners will choose where we go from the list. I will put your email or name with the suggestion so you can be contacted. It is hard to fine good places week after week so give us some help.
