It is time we head up north. I didn’t make this ride last year, but it touched a lot of guys. This is the place that was robbed shortly before our visit and our visit really meant a great deal to these people. Most of their money was in the café and there was a question as to where the money was going to come from for next week’s groceries. We have a good forecast and it will be a nice ride up that way. Hope you can make it. Below is Jerry’s ride report from last year….
Ride Report - 11/2 to Gower, MO

It was kind of a brisk ride today up north to Gower but what a beautiful sunny day it turned into. We had 20 bikes show up at the cafe and had a great time talking and taking in the sun. Once inside it was a comfortable little cafe run by Jackie and her mother, Georgia (not there today). She had two young girls taking care of us who did a great job and were as cheerful and friendly as they were beautiful. The food was good and prices reasonable. Definitely a place we should go back to.
After lunch I thanked Jackie for taking care of us, and she said "No - THANK YOU!!" She explained that her place was broken into last week and she was robbed. I asked her if it was very bad, did they steal any property or do any damage? She said no, they climbed into an upstairs window and broke into her office and stole $1000. She said she didn't know what she was going to do when suddenly I called and said I was bringing 20 people in for lunch. She said sometimes things just work out! I got the impression that she probably was operating on a mostly cash basis for paying her girls and buying her supplies, and that $1000 was most of her salary and supplies money. So here is another instance of the good that we can bring to these small communities and most of the time we don't even know or appreciate how much it means to them. [I hope you all leave generous tips at these kinds of places.]
Anyway, I'm glad to be a part of it, and glad to know a bunch of good guys who like to ride as much as I do.

Boy, it is not hard to have a wonderful day when the company is good, the weather perfect and the food delicious, and that is what we had today.
How these restaurants in these small towns stay is business, I do not know. Did you notice that outside of us they only had two other customers!! And no, we didn’t run there other customers away. Thank you for coming today, this certainly is one restaurant that knows who the Romeos are and appreciates our patronage.
I don’t know how many we had today, but it was a bunch. Two guys rode up as I was leaving. I tried to visit we everyone and I must have met at least 5+ new Romeos. A big Romeo welcome to you all and I hope to see you again soon. There is a ride tomorrow in Reading, KS in case you are looking for somewhere to go. Howdy all! I was one of the two that rode up as y'all were starting to head out. Sorry we were running late due to slight changes in direction now and then while trying to get there. Anyway my first time for me due to scheduling problems in the past but hopefully I'll be making others down the road. Seemed like a very nice group of people and looking forward to getting to know y'all better. Ride safe now...JoeT
