Junior's Fish Fry: Wednesday, October 28, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Post by roginoz »

Fall is upon us, so it's time for Junior's annual fish fry.

Junior has been working all summer (if you call fishing work...) catching a variety of fish. We'll meet in Bob Lee's garage for fried fish, beans, and hush puppies next Wednesday. Bob and Junior will provide fish, side dishes, and drinks, so all you need to do is show up. There will be a bucket for donations to offset the cost of the drinks and side dishes. (Easier than trying to carry stuff on your bike and hauling empty containers home...)

Food will be served from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, but we usually stay and BS after we polish off all the food. Bob has some really nicely restored old Hondas that you'll enjoy seeing, so don't forget to ask for the mechanic's tour after lunch.

If you haven't been to one of the fish fries, be sure to come – everyone has a great time, and we've yet to see anyone go home hungry. If you've been, you already know.

While my ST1300 is down for maintenance, I'm not carrying shirts to our get-togethers. (There's no luggage on the XR1200X, and very little on the KLR650.) If you'd like a shirt, my house is only about three miles from Bob's; you can stop by and pick one up after lunch.

We had a great turnout, the best this year (except for our two joint rides with the North Central group.) We had fifty-two people, on thirty-three bikes. The bikes traveled a total of 1040 miles, one way, to Bob's Garage.

The food was great: fish, fries, hushpuppies, beans, potato salad, cole slaw, and rolls. And, some pretty impressive cake and pies.

Charlie will have some photos posted soon, and I'll have an announcement for next week's ride in the next couple of days.

Thanks to Junior for the fish, and special thanks to all others for providing food and drinks! Wonderful.
One and a half dozen photos. Anyone notice that big full moon last night? I made a snapshot of it too.
