Tues 6/23/15 Harold's Smokehouse Freeman, MO

Post by Bob K. »

Tuesday looks hot and DRY, so we'll have plenty of room for everyone at Harold's Smokehouse in Freeman, Mo. If your GPS tries to take you into the town of Freeman, keep going to the 2 Hwy and C Hwy junction, Harold's is in the building attached to the gas station (no ethanol premium). Closed now on Tuesdays, they are opening just for the Romeos! Mary said they are having several menu items and specials for us.....
Smokey Pub Burger, choice of fries, cole slaw or potato salad 6.99 + tax cheese add .50, bacon add 1.50.
Tacos, 3 regular 3.99, 3 loaded 4.99, taco salad 6.99.
Burrito Platter, Harold's pulled pork and brisket stuffing, cheese on the top, 8.99
Chefs Salad, for us dainty eaters, 7.99
The food and the service have been Romeo good, and we even had our Christmas party here. Lets see if we can fill it up! Doors open at 11:00am, no breakfast.

Harold's Smokehouse
27500 S. State Route 2
Freeman, Mo 64746

Gary's map makes it easy to plan a route and know how long it will take to get to our lunch. Thanks Gary.

A great day to get out and ride, we made it home just before a storm hit here in the northland. Randy came up with a headcount of 74 Romeos enjoying pub burgers, burritos and tacos, I never did see a chefs salad go by. I really want to thank the owner Harold Kruse for opening the restaurant for us, his normal opening is 3:00 pm on Tuesday, actually the door was open at a little after 10:00, because there were a dozen of us there already. Mary and the rest did a great job getting orders and keeping up with latecomers. I know Roger and Randy were taking pictures, if I missed something they'll post it.

Bob, you did a great job today. I have no pictures to add to your report but I did add a couple to the KC ROMEO Photo Gallery

http://www.romeoriders.com/forums/viewt ... f=20&t=989

It was a really great day. There were so many folks I hadn't met before. I hope I got around and met everyone. We are so glad you came. Hope you had a good time and will come again.

I enjoyed meeting Harold, the owner and creator of the Smokehouse. He has quite a vision and is building a nice destination in Freeman, MO. As Bob said, Harold opened on a Tuesday just for the Romeos. It is special when we have a place like Harold's all to ourselves, but it always makes the Ride Coordinator nervous. How many do you tell them to prepare for?? and how many will show up??? Thank you, from all of the Ride Coordinators for coming today. You made it and extra special day. Thanks again.

At lunch today one of our Romeo friends had a fairly large sum of cash fall out of his wallet. Bohn and Bernie picked it and made sure the money found it way back to the owner who had already headed home :D We all have things like that happen and isn't it nice that we have good Romeo friends to look after us. PROUD TO BE A ROMEO

Linda and I had a great time visiting with everyone, I am glad we got some of the distractions out of the way so we could come! Great job, Bohn and Bernie, returning the cash to the guy who dropped it, that just illustrates what we all know about the great character of the ROMEO'S.
