Guys - My weather report for next Wednesday shows rain and cold temperatures. While on the 10 day forecast I did happen to notice that Monday will be the high and best day of the week with temperature project to be 75-80 degrees. What could be better other than trying out a brand new place...which is also what we'll be doing Monday.
Now, as you guys know, Abilene (oops...gave it away didn't I) is one of my favorite places because it's candy friendly! Russell-Stover is alway a required stop on the way back to pick up some of their famous bloopers. I don't intend to break the protocol.
I would never have know of this place had it not been for a benefit cycle ride for our veterans. This place was a staging area for the cycle parade to the Eisenhour Museum. It was a little known benefit group supported by local churches that sends cookies and tracs overseas to our service men and women. Not well attended by most poker run standards but they do good work nevertheless.
The day is unusual because I have my bike all cleaned and serviced for the upcoming Ride Around Arkansas that I plan to go on and frankly I just don't want to go thru all the detailing again. If you haven't considered it...check it out.
Here's the time.............................................High Noon
Here's the place............................................Ike's Place

As always.........................ride careful, ride safe and I'll see you in Abilene. Richard

Guys - Just a quick word here about some 'club' matters. First, after visiting with several folks today about the upcoming Arkansas Spring Rendezvous and the similarly scheduled Ride Around Arkansas, I was surprised that so few folks were aware of it. So, let me put in a big plug here. When getting onto the Romeo site, go to the index board and click onto Riding Events. It's the second thing that pops up on the forum. This is soooo full of information.
The Spring Rendezvous is a fun event and the riding in the area is a hoot. If you only have a few days available this is the one to go to. Most anyone has a day or two and this is a magnificent place to ride. But, if you really want some saddle time, let me to encourage you to consider the Ride Around Arkansas. Check out the write up and the work that has already gone into making the trip memorable. The amount of detail that has been posted about this ride makes me want to do it even more. Take some time and read the write-ups from prior trips and you can see the fun to be had but even better is it's in the State of Arkansas this year. Arkansas is fantastic! Join in if you can!
Now on another matter......the North Central ROMEO Photo Gallery....I know we have guys who are not shown in the photo gallery and it's maybe my fault for not pushing it enough but please....catch me at one of the lunches had ask me to take your photo. I'll be happy to do it and put it on the gallery. It helps us get to know one another better. After all, some of us only see each other once a week if we're lucky!
Now, for the important matter at hand......did we have a time today or what! Weather that we have been dreaming for for months was finally here. And a lot of us took advantage of it by extending our riding into the afternoon. I left lunch and as predicted went over to Russell Stovers for some bloopers where I met a prospective new member. He's from Salina as it turned out. After that....I went for an extended ride and got home with twice the miles it took to get to lunch. All in all I consider it a wonderful day.
Hey...Just got a call from Joyce who is down in Mac at a women's church meeting and she said it's the ? anniversary of the Dairy Queen in that town and the're giving away free ice cream cones so I've gotta sign off for just a minute and take another trip. Be back later....first things first 'ya know!
Photos as always will follow..............
