South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, February 18, 11:00 AM

Next Wednesday's forecast is calling for a high of forty, with pretty frigid temperatures at at mid-morning when we'd be leaving for lunch. Probably another good day to arrive on four wheels, so we'll stay close to home. If the bad weather doesn't show up, and we get a chance to ride, we can always take the long way home. Maize is close enough to ride if it's “just” cold, and close enough to drive if it's too wet or cold for the bikes.

We've been to Nancy's at least once before, and some of us have been there independent of the ROMEO outings. Nancy used to be a partner in the Artichoke, in Wichita, and has been running her restaurant in Maize for the last few years. They have excellent sandwiches and a chicken fried steak special on Wednesdays. Breakfast is served until 10:30, in case you're one of the guys who arrive early.

I am heading out on a several days trip, so I need to post my photos and run.

I think Charlie got all in attendance, and all of the bikes, in his photos. We had twenty-two show up for breakfast or lunch, two of them (the Moundridge crew) on motorcycles. Gene and Ron rode a total of eighty miles (forty each, one way) to join us.

We gotta get better weather sooner or later.
