South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, December 24, 11:00 AM

Post by roginoz »

This will be our first official ride of winter. We'll be staying a bit closer to home for a couple of months (unless we get a really good warm spell.) It'll also let us get home in plenty of time for Christmas Eve activities.

We last visited Sedgwick on New Year's Day, so let's head back to Cy's. It's mostly thought of as a steak place, but there are a variety of choices on the menu, and a “cook's choice” special on Wednesdays. Sedgwick is about twenty-five miles from Wichita. You can take 125th west from I-135, or just head north on Ridge Road.

I'll bring t-shirts, in case you need a last minute Christmas gift for yourself. (We take no responsibility for anyone giving their wife a ROMEO shirt for Christmas, unless it's wrapped around something sparkly and expensive...)

TIME:

11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 24

PLACE:

Cy's Hoof & Horn
425 N. Commercial
Sedgwick, KS 67135
(316) 772-5329

It was chilly and overcast when we left Wichita, but the sun broke through on the ride home and revealed some bright blue winter skies. I'm glad I bundled up and got the bike out for a Christmas Eve ride.

We had twenty-one people at Cy's for lunch, and eleven motorcycles parked out front. One-way miles ridden totaled 296. By all accounts, lunch was excellent. I had a great (meaning both really good and really big...) smothered sancho, and Phil commented favorably on the BBQ beef sandwich. Charlie will have some photos posted soon, so check back if you don't see them right now.

We will have a ride next week, on New Year's Eve. I'll do some checking to make sure that our destination is open, check the long range forecast (like that's ever helped...,) and post something in a couple of days.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
