Harold's Smokehouse (opens at 11:00 but she said "We won't leave you out in the cold!?" and I said "You don't know my guys!" :o

After much discussion and many suggestions of where to have our Christmas/Holiday lunch, Bob K.'s suggestion of Harold's Smokehouse was a unanimous choice :P
This is the place with unique decor, the inside of a house built inside the restaurant. The last time we visited Harold's we had one of our largest turnouts. Checkout the ride report from our last visit http://www.romeoriders.com/forums/viewt ... eman#p7225

Harold's is really pleased that we have picked their place for our lunch and have come up with two super specials. The PUB BURGER, which is a SMOKED hamburger and one side for $7.25. They only smoke so much beef so the supply is limited. When they are out they are out. It sound sooooo good, and they wanted a number, so I said between 20 to 30!! Help me out here. A close second to the Pub Burger is the POOR BOY, a blend of smoked meats served on a bun with one side for $5.99. She said "Don't worry about us running out of the POOR BOY!" (Of course, the full menu is available)

We always try to make our Christmas Lunch special and I think we have done it. Don't worry about the weather, don't worry about riding, just bring a friend and a smile :D

Just to let you know. In the discussions of where to have our Christmas lunch we also talked about whether to have a lunch on 12/23 and 12/30. The feeling I received from the group is YES, PLAN A LUNCH EVERY WEEK!! Rain, snow or ice, it is winter and even though we can't ride it is good to be with friends. So you need not worry about whether a lunch will be scheduled or not, one will be scheduled, just be careful. ;)

Today was a very special day!! Thanks for coming. I hope you had a good time.

The Holiday season is a time to visit and be with friends and that is exactly what we did today. Some of our friends couldn't be with us today, but they should know we are thinking of them.My day is always brighten by the smiling faces and the Christmas sweaters of the ladies. In my opionion we had the largest number of ladies ever to attend a Romeo lunch. Thanks for coming and I hope you enjoyed yourself. You know you are always welcome. Gayle and Dennis came all the way from Camden Point, MO, which is north of Platte City :o Paola was well represented today. Ron joined Don and Mike (THE OATMEAL GANG), who were a couple of the few that rode today. I didn't go out to see who rode today, but Roy, Al, Mike, Don, the POLAR BEAR guy, who I can never remember his name, were a few of the very cold hands I shook today  In the background is Ron. He handed me his phone and said "Someone wants to wish you a Merry Christmas." It was Lavida and John somewhere near Brownsville, TX. :D I saw their picture on the Texas Romeo site last Friday!! A Merry Christmas to you two from all of us up here. I award Vicki the prize for the prettiest Christmas Sweater. This is BOB :!: We want to thank Bob and Gary for picking Harold's and being the perfect hosts. They took such good care of us that you would have thought they owned the place. ;)

Well that's about it for me. Bob is going to post some more pictures. He said he wanted to wait till there was some food on the table. Harold's was good and we will go back. We had between 40 and 45 today and Bob said the food and service might have been a little better last time when we had 80! That might be true, and I wasn't at the last time, but I know today was special and this is a special group of folks who make me PROUD TO BE A ROMEO. :!: :!: :!: From Melissa and I to all of you, may you have a Very Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas party! Gary counted a total of 45 and we all knew there were 5 motorcycles ridden in the less than comfortable weather. In the vernacular of the nearby small towns....A good time was had by all. Great to see you enjoying the holiday spirit! We missed being there but tried to celebrate the moment by stopping in Pie Town NM only to find it closed for the winter so we traveled on to Quemado NM for lunch at the Largo Cafe, a small place where I tried my first Mexican hamburger. It looked and tasted great going down, and in Romeo spirit I ate "the whole thing" and am still paying the price today! We arrived in Phoenix around 6:30 after fighting rush hour traffic on the 101. Only saw two motorcycles on the whole trip.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
