Ride Report-- TUES 12/2/14 KELLEY'S, BASEHOR, KS

Post by shoresr »

Really nice day, thanks for coming!!Around 24 guys and gals showed up today on a brisk, but sunny and nice day. Kelley's food and service was excellant as you would expect. The majority ordered the 1/2 price hamburger, which was a real bargain ;) Harold from Gardner brought his neighbor who he is trying to talk into buying a motorcycle. Swanee made the ride from Topeka, Randy from Butler, Denny from Camden point. Dan and Glenda from Lone Jack. A good representation. I was very happy to welcome Mary Rose and Bogie. They ride a Harley trike, which Mary Rose drives most of the time. I know them from other motorcycle groups, they are a lot of fun and I was really glad to see them. Paul apologized for his dirty trike. You bet, when my bike is clean it is not as clean as Paul's bike when his is dirty :o When you look at those stickers, you know why we haven't seen RJ in awhile. :P It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Hope you are getting into the holiday spirit and are planning on coming to our Christmas/Holiday Lunch at Harold's Smokehouse, Freeman, MO December 16!!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, Mick has setup a lunch at Froggy's in St Mary's, KS. Even if you can't make the lunch I think you will enjoy the ride announcement.

A BIG ROMEO CONGRATULATIONS to Slina and Leland who are celebrating their 59 years of Wedded Bliss. I cannot remember anyone I know who has been married 59 years. That is truly remarkable and they rode to Alaska last year. Keep ridin' you two. We love you!!

Speaking of Leland and Slina. It is pecan time!! Next week I am planning to get Melissa some pecans for those Christmas cookies. Start thinking about we you need. We will either go to the farm or they will bring them to lunch. I will post information later this week. http://www.prothespecans.com/contact_us_12.html

The West Central Polar Bear Club puts together a bunch of nice rides that you might want to consider. They operate a lot like we do, just show up -- between 11:30 and 12:30. This Saturday they are going to O'Malley's Irish Pub in Weston, MO

Hope you are staying warm and riding when you can. Ride safe and I hope to see you down the road!!

I always like to do a map of nice days. Today was one of them.

I haven't been on a Romeo Ride in quite some time. The stars aligned today and I got another 55 miles in for December. It was a balmy 28 degrees when I left the house but crept up to 36 by the time lunch was over.

Two things about the ride, first I wish my electric jacket worked a little better. Second, every ride is different. Some days it's just about getting out and moving, other days something just clicks and maybe the wind is just right or the engine is shifting perfectly, or the scenery is particularly nice. I can't exactly put my finger on it but today was one of those days. 55 sMiles down the road!

If you ride you know what I'm talking about and you've been there.
