Lunch 11 AM June 11, Circleville, Ks.

Post by schoolmaster »

It's time to go north, and what better place than the Country Cafe in Circleville, Ks. Rhonda is pleased to have us return and she is going to fix her famous lasagna, salad, and homemade rolls as the ROMEO special, or you can order breakfast before or order off the menu for lunch. I told her that some like to come a bit early for breakfast but those that come for lunch are usually there around 10:30 for a little conversation before lunch at 11. So that is the plan for Wednesday, June 11 at:

Country Cafe
303 Grant St.
Circleville, Kansas
(don't get lost, there are 2 streets)
785-924-3333

Mick, Sounds like a great place to go Wednesday.
As you can see I'm back up and running , Thanks for your help.
Jerry is a great guy, very helpful and patient with us old men. We
would be in trouble without his help, and computer expertise.

Well, Roger advised yesterday in his ride report that if the sun shines, ride. He is a wise man, because the sun did shine and it was a perfect day to ride. The short 4 mile ride from Hwy 16 on Hwy 79 to Circleville might have been as pretty as I've ever seen it-vibrant green pastures, blue skies, and livestock grazing in grass up to their bellies (not unlike the ROMEO's at the Country Cafe a bit later). I didn't get an exact count, but 35 is a pretty good estimate of the ROMEO population in Circleville today (total population during that time, about 65!) It will be hard to beat the weather next week for our ride, but we'll give it a shot. If today wasn't a great day to be a ROMEO, there never will be one. Thanks to everyone who made the ride to Circleville.

Just like we remembered it from last time. Except there is a 15% discount on close-out 1 lb. pkgs. of hamburger. But, we were too late, because the Circleville grocery has closed. Might even get a bigger discount now on any hamburger that didn't go in the big sale!

I told you there were 2 streets. Great dining at the "two dead presidents" intersection.

The mail wasn't in yet, so it was pretty quiet at the post office.

We made a pretty nice presence at the intersection of Lincoln and Grant. Harold, Jr. and Hoser took pretty good advantage of the shade.

Cozy. If you bring a girl, you get to snuggle. Joe's looking around like he got caught doing something wrong.

And this is a sample, hot and ready to go. The lasagna, not the ladies in the kitchen.

This is the feature bike of the week. Swanee arrived on his new (413 miles) 1978/2014 Yamaha 400. This takes Japanese motorcycles back to their roots. There was a lot of conversation today about this addition to our fleet.

There was a lot of hanging around and visiting today. Although a few left early to ride to lunch with North Central in Riley, the majority hung around for a long time.

This is why most folks fill up before they ride to Circleville, since the local gas pump is not very accessible.
