Lunch 11am May 7th Reading, KS

Post by bucky »

:D :D Last week some of us stopped in Reading for pie after lunch. We talked to Rita about having lunch there. She asked what we would like to have as the special. We all thought Home made chicken and noodles sounded good. Rita said we can do that. So lets all show up for some good home cooking.

Wow! As Oral Roberts slogan says, "Expect a Miracle". And between Oral Roberts and nice weather, it brought out a huge crowd for lunch at the Miracle Cafe in Reading. Hoser was the official motorcycle counter today and he came up with 48 so with the number of 2 ups we had, that should have put our count at about 53. Apparently I missed a new couple who made their first visit to Eastern Kansas Romeo. Welcome Linda and Larry #4. BTW, Larry just made it in under the wire due to the 4 Larry limit we've set. Hope everyone had a safe ride and a successful pie ride afterward. You know, I think it was another great day to be a ROMEO!

When you're in Reading, expect the Miracle. And here is the entrance to lunch in Reading.

We had such a run at the cafe, the owner had to make a run across the street to the bank, apparently to break some of those big bills Romeo's are known to carry.

The crowd was so large I didn't even see Swanee there, but he must have been there somewhere.

Bucky thought he was right on time at 10:30, but when he pulled in, there was only one parking spot left, right in front, because we saved it for him.

If you didn't try this, you missed a treat. However, the burgers looked pretty darn good as well.

It was just a perfect day for sitting out front and visiting and plenty of us seemed to do just that today. It was about a 2 1/2 hour event today in Reading, with the last of the group pulling out for pie or ice cream around 12:30. It must be summer because Hoser was sporting his new summer hat!

A big ROMEO welcome to Doug from Olathe. He bought himself a new Softail for his birthday which was today and rode it to his first ROMEO event ever. Neal introduced him to the group. Hope to see often Doug.

And as usual, Duane gets into trouble everywhere we go, parking on the sidewalk, spitting on the curb, telling stories that aren't completely true, you name it he's done it. And again several of us had to bail him out of the hoosegow so he could ride for pie.
