Breakfast ride Wednesday August 31st

Post by John Kuhn »

Our next ride will be the last day of August. Maybe the weather will start to cool off so we can have longer rides at lunch.

I finally got a round to it. Back in the old days we used to get a wooden plug about the size of a silver dollar.
On one side it said " ROUND TUIT" On the other it said. " Now you got around to it".
Thats me.
I checked with Brunin's Cafe in Andale. Short ride and yet close enough for the Hutch and South folks.
Unfortunately they are closed.
Ron the owner, passed away recently and his daughter said they MIGHT open up again after Labor Day. Lets keep the family in our thoughts and prayers.
So we are sceduled to go to:

Dutch Kitchen Restaurant
6803 West State St
Hutchinson Ks 67501
620-662-2554

09:00am

The address is missleading. It is on US Hwy-50 at the Ks. Hwy-61 intersection.
Food is great and servings large. The Cinnamom rolls are to die for. Also the Coffe Cake.

BIG BAD JOHN

Hello, new here. What time ya'all usually roll in for the breakfast? I will be there, maybe.

Charlie:
The nominal time is usually 9:00 AM, but some of these guys are early risers. If I show up at 8:30 there are already a bunch eating breakfast. Being a ROMEO event, it's fairly loosely structured...

John & Co:
I'm back from Indy (the MotoGP.) I'm hoping to get back on schedule and make this ride.

WELCOME Charlie.
Keep a eye open for updates on this page.
Ronson usually sets up a meet at Motorsports, 31st St South and K-15, about an hour before eating time. A few of us usually ride together to the eatery.
Hope to see you there.
Big Bad John

ps. Thanks for the reminder to add the time. J K

Another matter - Last week I met 5 ROMEO riders in Burden. You were from Oxford or Ponca City. Should read this, please contact me.

The small group met at Mr Lee's house. 6 showed up.
Started west at 8:00am. Temp in town was 82 degrees. MUCH better than the last few months.
Got west of 151 St on K96. Temp dropped to 80. COOL. :D
We were met by quite a crowd at Dutch's Kitchen. 29 signed the book. A record for our bunch. :)
Our newest member, Charles Cummins "Harley Charlie" came the farthest from Mulvane. 79 miles. WELCOME CHARLIE. :D
Cary McAllaster was second with 68 miles, from Derby. ;)
Wes Boese said he pushed his Kawasaki 6 miles from Hutch. :o I'm Kidding Wes.
The Cinnamon rolls were as good and LARGE as ever. Service was fast for such a big group.
