Romeo Summer Rendezvous June 22, 2011

Bucky had the idea but wanted someone else to do the arrangements, and that is fair, Bucky has spent a lot of time doing things for the Romeos. The idea is to have an Old Fashioned Picnic. Here is what we came up with.

A Picnic, you bring your own food and drink.

Date = June 22, 2011 at 1100

Location = The Arbor at Peter Pan Park in Emporia.

Bring spouses, friends, anyone you like.

I have contacted two local business that will dear up for carry out lunch early for those that do not want to carry lunch on their bikes from home.

The Country Mart Grocery Store at Commercial and Second Ave. has a deli with fried chicken, sandwiches, sides, and of course anything you might need from a grocery store.

Across the street is Bad Ol Bernie's BBQ, with smoked meat sandwiches sides etc.

Either place is about eight blocks from the picnic location and of course easy to find.

We have the Arbor reserved for all day, plus access to anything in the park.

More details will added and questions fielded. Plan on this one, it should be loads of fun and hopefully attended by Romeos from near and far.

Wow, what a day. I hope you are as excited as I am and had as much fun as I did. Bucky came up with a great idea and Don ran with it!! We might have had to count the guy that rode by handing out fliers, but by my count with made the 0NE HUNDRED that Don had hoped for, and we didn’t have to count dogs and kids!! Great job Don and Bucky the Romeo Summer Rendezvous was a great success and I think we should definitely plan on doing it again next year. It will only get bigger.

I really enjoyed meeting Romeos from other areas. I am sorry there wasn’t an opportunity for us to visit more. That is one of the good things about the Spring and Fall Romeo Rendezvous’. Because they are overnights we get to visit more. If you haven’t come to either the Spring or Fall Rendezvous please try to do so. They are a lot of fun.

One of the things I enjoyed about today’s Rendezvous was the bikes. I would appreciate any thoughts you might have about today’s event. If you attended today, what did you like? What did you not like and how could the Rendezvous be improved. If you were unable to attend, was there a reason we need to consider.
