South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, September 13, 11:00 AM

Post by roginoz »

According to my records, we haven't been to Zenda in a while. I was going to schedule us earlier this year, but there was a bridge out and a fairly lengthy detour. The road is finished, and we should have no problem getting to the Lumber Yard next Wednesday.

The Lumber Yard is about sixty miles from Wichita, a little over an hour's ride west on K42 (including the nice S-curves outside Norwich.) The lunch menu includes sandwiches, burgers, and salad. There's also a daily lunch special.

Incidentally, Zenda is the only place in Kansas where I've seen a roadrunner crossing the road. No coyote behind him, so I assume he simply wanted to get to the other side.

TIME:
11:00, Wednesday, September 13

PLACE:

Lumber Yard
311 N. Main
Zenda, KS 67159

Lumber Yard Steak House! Always a great meal following a fun ride to arrive. The two lovely ladies were friendly and attentive, coffee and drinks did not empty in the cups. Meal was great, I had the special. I saw several other meals too, all were plentiful and appreciated.

We had a nice group today. 18 ROMEO arrived on 18 motorcycles. The total mileage to the steakhouse was 1164 miles, and most went back home at a little longer direction. We had 3 riders tie for the long distance rider! Three, same mileage, believe that! Moundridge Ron, Newton Tim and ElDorado Rudy rolled the long go of 90 miles each! Congrats guys..

We will be doing this again next week. Be sure to see where, Roger will post it soon.

And do see today's photos below

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
