Option A this week is an old favorite Romeo spot. The Whistle Stop in Osawatomie has been a place we have visited many times over the past 10 years, and they are always glad to have us back. Last visit was about a year ago so time we went back. They open early and serve breakfast until 11:00 then lunch after 11:00. I told them we would start to trickle in around 9:00-9:30am so get there whenever you want, just get there. Weather looks ideal. Hope to see you there.

Option B this week is Waverly Apple BBQ in Waverly, MO. Tuesday is the tenderloin special $7.99 sandwich only, or $9.99 sandwich and fries, still a good value because they are so big you can get more meals out of the sandwich (Bring a cooler). There are plenty of other menu items, BBQ and pretty much anything else is good, too. Doors open at 11:00, they might open a little early for us.

I called several orchards in the area for the availability of peaches and produce.
Peter's Orchards Retail Market, 1 1/2 miles east of Waverly on 65, they should have a couple varieties of peaches, gala and honey crisp apples, fruit slushies, donuts and plenty more.
Rasa Orchards, 12 miles west of Waverly, might have peaches, might have jams and jellies, might be open, they should keep grandma from answering the phone when she's drunk.
Meierer Fruit Market, a couple miles east of Lexington, MO, (look for the banner) should have some peaches, they do have plenty of garden produce, jams, jellies and lots more, my favorite produce place, north of 24, 1/8 mile of gravel.
We had a smaller group today at Waverly Apple BBQ, total of 13, the tenderloins were amazing as usual, burnt ends and salads were looking great, too. Before lunch, Wanda and I explored Gen Joseph Shelby park. After lunch , some went to Peters Market for produce and apple cider donuts, some went to Rasa Orchards for peaches and produce and some of us went to Meierer Fruit and Produce. Just saying, I came home with 2 pieces of leftover tenderloin from Waverly, then peaches, roasting ears, candy, jellies and Cowboy Candied Jalapenos from Meierer Fruit. Good day out with great friends.

Ok, I’m filling in for John today, and what a day we had! We could not have wished for a better day for riding and gathering together at the “Whistle Stop Cafe.” After the “Early Bird Bunch,” then came the regular breakfast bunch streaming in one by one. After breakfast was about done, then came our “Lunch Bunch” one by one. We were busting the place at the seams, leaving barely enough room for any locals.
As I was leaving to go home with the last of the lunch group at 1:30 pm, yup, you’ve seen right,1:30 pm, I was asked by the owner how many came today. She was guessing 40. I wasn’t really certain, but I think it was closer to 50 riders on 41 bikes!
