For our next roundup let’s head out for Roxanne’s Cafe in Platte City. For some time now the weather has been favoring us with our rides. But get ready, everyone, because we’re heading into the “Dog Days of Summer.” As I see it right now, we’ll need to use some caution and good old common sense for next week’s ride. The long-range temperatures for the next week or two are going be up and over the 100º mark for a high. I’m thinking of joining the “Early Birds” to arrive an hour earlier than I normally do to beat the heat of the day.

Most Romeos are no strangers to Roxanne’s in Platt City, MO. Our group hasn’t been to Roxanne’s for a while. If you have recently been there, it’s always enjoyable for a double dip. If it’s still what I remembered, you will find it a most welcoming and relaxing place to eat and hang out. I have always found it to be among the friendliest and most welcoming of restaurants! Now with the “Dog Days of Summer” upon us, we managed to get an early start in our day by joining with our “Early Bird Romeos” for breakfast, and still had time to take a relaxing ride back home along some of our most scenic hills and back roads to beat the heat of the day. It was good to see Dennis & Gale who were meeting some friends for breakfast and weren’t expecting to see any Romeos at Roxanne’s today (surprise, surprise)!!

All of us had a good time visiting while breaking bread together. There were a good number who turned out today, considering the extreme heat. That being said, here is the evidence of how this day’s event went.
