Yesterday I was looking at the forecast for next Wednesday and it was looking a little sketchy wit 61% chance of thunderstorms. I was thinking of a Thursday ride. But today it seems to have improved a bit and if the trend continues we should be OK. We were here just about a year ago. The name is a little deceptive. It sounds like a home town diner. It congers up an image of a chubby short order cook with a sailor's cap and a gum chewing waitress named Flo, but it's actually a Mexican restaurant. As it turns out Al is an abbreviation of ALVEREZ. Now things come into focus. I'm not big on Mexican cuisine, but as I recall they had a Mexican pizza that went down really well, the last time we were there. So if the forecast holds, or even continues to improve, we'll see you there.
Today was a day straight out of Dante's Inferno. A truly apocalyptic vision. Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, meteors falling from space, cats and dogs living together. What caused all this chaos you may ask? The world peace summit was a total bust! I was the only one to show up. At least I think I was. I was 20 minutes late, so someone may have come before me and given up on the idea. How can humanity survive without our invaluable insights and council?!? As a result it falls incumbent upon me to establish a time and place to launch from tomorrow. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. So I hereby decree that we will launch from the Rodeway Inn @ 10:00. As it is said, so let it be.
