Option A this week is the Rock Island Cafe, in Leeton MO. We were scheduled to visit the Rock Island Café on May 9 but had to cancel. As near as I can tell it’s been about 10 years since the ROMEOs were in Leeton and what is now the Rock Island Cafe used to be Jodi’s. They serve breakfast until 10:30 then lunch. Tuesday lunch special is tacos. 10:00 sounds like a good time. Current weather report is a high in the 80s. Hope to see you there.

Option B this week will be Dino's Diner in Cameron, MO. We were last there in Aug of 2022, breakfast and lunch are served all day, I think 10:00 is a good time, but they will serve you whenever.

For those of you who knew Craig McSparren, we lost another good Romeo. I was told he passed after a grand child's graduation. Craig lived in Independence, MO, he rode a 2009 Yamaha and a 2008 Goldwing trike. Craig was a great guy and he was very active in Romeos, but he hadn't ridden much since the pandemic, he will be missed. I'll post info on his service when I get it.

We had 26 Romeos on 19 motorcycles today at Dino's Diner, three new ones, Tim D. from Kidder, I believe and Andy U. and his friend Janet from KCMO. Fun facts, Tim D. has the same last name as my great grandmother who was from up north, so probably we're related and Andy and I went to 1st grade together in a one room school house in Minnieville, MO. Small world, isn't it?

We had 25 ROMEOs at Rock Island Cafe on a perfect riding day. Service and food were outstanding and I got personalized service when the waitress was told that I got cranky if I didn't get my coffee fast. It was homecoming for Jay--he went to 2nd grade at the school across the street from the cafe. Jay's brother was there with an outstanding '66 Mustang and Ivan's Vanderbilt brightened up the lot. We filled the rest of the lot with motorcycles. Joe gave up on V8 trikes after Rendezvous and sold his. Swears he won't get another--we'll see. I met Mike and Don coming in on highway 2 as I was leaving. Just a perfect ROMEO day.
