Next Wednesday is looking pretty good so I figure we can venture a little farther from the den. We haven't been here for about 2 years so I figure we could pay them a visit. Last time I wound up riding out there alone and it was a bit of an adventure. I had to abandon my masculinity and do the unthinkable, ask directions. I think I have it sussed out now though.
What a day! First I got a call inquiring about the launch time for tomorrow. That was just after my computer crashed. It wanted to do updates. That's always an ordeal. When it starts, it takes about 2 hours to go through all it's contortions. Then when it gets it all done, it tells me that it can't complete the updates and it has to undo all the changes. Another 2 hours. Knowing that I won't have a computer for at least the next 4 hours, I went out to the garage to try to do something productive. After a little while of putzing around a tire job came in. So after about an hour of hand to hand combat with the tire changer I managed to get it mounted and balanced. In the mean time I had some ribs thawing waiting to be made into my world famous marinaded roast ribs for dinner. Well, that requires two hours of marinading about four hours of low and slow roasting. That didn't happen. So now I'm trying to figure out what to do with thawed pig parts that won't be too revolting. By this time,as is evident by this post, I got my computer back and I can finally get the launch time posted. Looking at the map it looks like it will take about an hour and a half. That's allowing for my marginal navigational skills. I never got lost when I was flying, but on the ground it's a crap shoot. At any rate we will launch from the Casey's on Ohio and Iron @ 9:30. See you there.

Roadpounder, just wanted to let you know that 177 from 70 is closed due hiway construction. If you take hiway 57 from Grand View Plaza to Dwight, then take hiway 4 to Alta Vista you’ll be fine. Kai

Kurt's route is what my trip planner came up with.

For those coming in from east, you can take 99 into Alma and get to Alta Vista by taking 99 then 4 into Alta Vista . Or take old hiway 10 from Alma which is the back way into Alta Vista.
