CAUTION: The “WHISTLESTOP CAFE” NAME HAS BEEN CHANGED TO “1886 CAFE”. SO, COMING INTO MAYETTA YOU WILL WANT TO LOOK FOR 1886 CAFE WHERE ALL THE BIKES ARE. I hope everyone will catch this change before heading to Mayetta, KS.
Ok, here is breakfast all day and lunch served from 10:30 AM till close at the 1886 Cafe. While being waited on and eating a scrumptious meal you can watch the train curve its way through the cafe’s chimney tunnel, then wind its way around the walls of the dining room! “Happy Trails” and hope to see you all there!
FYI: There have been requests as to receiving an email reminder sent for our weekly rides. To keep them from being annoying and cluttering your email boxes, let me know if you are interested in receiving a reminder. You can send me an email (romeorider@icloud.com), text me with your email address or give it to me at one of our rides. This will aid our riders much quicker and will better help our new riders in finding our destination rides.

Re: NOVEMBER 23RD, 10:00 AM, 1886 CAFE, MAYETTA, KS
Here is our cook, Bailey! Bailey & her husband did a fabulous job serving us. Thank you both for making everything happen for the Romeos!
You Romeo Riders continually impress me with your attendance with almost every destination ride. I always seem to underestimate how many will show up, and today was no different.
While booking the 1886 Café, my assumptions were that the day before this THANKSGIVING holiday, many would be traveling somewhere to celebrate with loved ones, families & friends. My thoughts were that there wouldn’t be more than a just a handful of riders show up. Well, so much for my thinking (which I’m often accused of doing too much of) there were two robust groups of riders show up for breakfast & lunch!
Again, I was having too much fun visiting and taking photos that I didn’t count, but my guess is somewhere in the neighborhood of 24 or so. Pretty good for a crispy “Fall Day” and considering everything else that could have complicated it! Ok, so let’s look to the photos taken and see for yourselves what the day brought forth.
