Junior's Fish Fry: Wednesday, October 19, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Post by roginoz »

We're bringing back a traditional ROMEO event for next week's ride: Junior's Fish Fry. This year the fish fry will be held at the Twisted Oz Motorcycle Museum in Augusta; good eats and a chance to see an impressive collection of motorcycles.

Junior and Shirley will provide fish, hushpuppies, potatoes, cole slaw and dessert. Lunch will be served from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM; this should accommodate the early birds and those who need to travel a ways to Augusta.

There will be a box for donations to help pay supplies and side dish ingredients (the fish is free, courtesy of Junior's summer of fishing in Arkansas.) Any leftover funds will be donated to the museum. There's usually leftover fish for those wanting to take some home.

Judging by the quantity of fish each year, Junior must be a pretty good fisherman. Judging by the quality of what we've had in recent times, he's also a pretty good cook. If you haven't been to one of the fish fries, be sure to come – everyone has a good time. The food is great, and to my knowledge, no one has ever gone home hungry.

We should see some of our friends from the other groups; a good chance to visit with riders we don't see frequently. I've invited the North Central riders, and will post the event on the general riding event section of the website forum.

The fish fry goes on, rain or shine. If the weather happens to be less than ideal for riding, you all have four wheel vehicles. Riding in the rain is also an option, although I've found it doesn't impress our group much...

WOWZER!! What a great ROMEO day we enjoyed today. Large group enjoyed 'all you can eat' fish and trimmings supplied but Jr. Wege and wife Shirley. (BTW<> I know his actual first name, but not telling-don't ask.) The museum is always a hoot, so many awesome older bikes that bring back memories to us Romeo riders. The 60's and 70's were amazing motorcycle years, but much before those years motorcycles were in the exciting formative years. This museum has a super representation of those real formative years. An amazing museum.

Our sincere thanks to Junior, Shirley, the men cooking the meals and super thank you to Twisted Oz Motorcycle Museum!

We had 45 sign the book today, but a few was not added. I suppose we passed 50 ROMEO's today! Many miles in cage machines and rolled on motorcycles. Thanks to all. Do scroll down and see the photos below - Charley

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
