Junior's Fish Fry: Wednesday, October 19, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

A place to list other riding events. Anyone is welcome to announce any kind of group ride - whether it is for just a handful of riders or for a major event.

Junior's Fish Fry: Wednesday, October 19, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Post by roginoz »

The South Central Kansas group would like to invite ROMEOs from all our other area groups to one of our annual traditions: Junior's Fish Fry. This year the fish fry will be held at the Twisted Oz Motorcycle Museum in Augusta; good eats and a chance to see an impressive collection of motorcycles.

Junior and Shirley Wege will provide fish, hushpuppies, potatoes, cole slaw and dessert. Lunch will be served from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM; this should accommodate the early birds as well as those who need to travel a ways to Augusta.

There will be a box for donations to help pay supplies and side dish ingredients (the fish is free, courtesy of Junior's summer of fishing in Arkansas.) Any leftover funds will be donated to the museum. There's usually leftover fish for those wanting to take some home.

Judging by the quantity of fish each year, Junior must be a pretty good fisherman. (Junior says he has enough fish to feed a hundred people...) Judging by the quality of what we've had in recent times, he's also a pretty good cook. If you haven't been to one of the fish fries, be sure to come – everyone has a good time. The food is great, and to my knowledge, no one has ever gone home hungry.

For those who have never been to the Twisted Oz Motorcycle Museum, it's well worth the trip. There are two buildings full of antique and classic motorcycles, including some you won't see elsewhere.

The fish fry goes on, rain or shine. If the weather happens to be less than ideal for riding, you all have four wheel vehicles. Riding in the rain is also an option, although I've found it doesn't impress our group much...
