It’s been over a year since we went to Wetmore, Ks, and that’s too long. Not just for the interesting old Antique Car Museum, but also for it’s good food and a beautiful scenic ride. Looks like there will be good weather with low 80’s. The Dinner Bell is looking forward to having us again. You can get breakfast until 10:30 am then lunch begins at 11:00 am. The lunch special is famously delicious and is their forever-popular meat loaf along with cheesy baked beans & corn (please don’t accuse me of lying if Susan our cook should happen to change it)!
Bob Carson's (Antique Car Museum)
I talked with Bob Carson to see if his antique car museum was going to be open while we are in Wetmore. He told me it would be open at 11 am to 2 pm. If you haven’t seen his museum, it’s worth a look. You will see an old, restored gas station with antique pumps and 38 antique cars on display inside a building right across the street from the cafe.
FYI: We are just a “stone’s throw away” from the Labor Day holiday and summer is ending soon … can you believe it? “Fall Rendezvous” is just around the corner Monday through Wednesday, September 12th-14th in Harrison, AR. If you are interested the details are posted on our website for this event. A group of rooms has been set aside at the Supper 8 Motel. You won’t want to miss out experiencing this fun time and the exhilarating rides on the twisty roads of Arkansas. May all your trails be “Happy Trails” and hope to see you all there!

Re: AUGUST 31ST, 10:00 AM, DINNER BELL CAFE, WETMORE, KS
Sorry for the delay, but I thought I had our ride posted until one our Romeos alerted me that it had not been posted yet … Major Oops!!! I think I’ve identified the problem. I won’t bore you with detail, but there was a technical error on my end, and I’ll let it go at that. So, to thank my fellow Romeo for giving me a heads up, let’s give this another whirl. This is a reminder of a familiar cliché … “Did you learn anything.” Hopefully I have, for it has been indelibly written in my memory bank.
To begin again, the first thing that comes to mind is that it was a breathtaking day! The weather was more than cooperative, and we had a beautiful day for riding. I was amazed how many came to enjoy the day. I counted 40 bikes and was told that we had 40-50 riders. We enjoyed once again talking to Bob Carson and looking at all his antique cars. As I begin “Show & Tell” below, I’ll let the photos do the talking:
