OK. It looks like we're back in the oven again with temps in the mid 90s, so I'm keeping it close to home. Lindsborg is close enough. This is a new place that we haven't been to since they opened in the spring. The last time I was there was when Suzi's charging system broke down on the way back from Galva. They weren't open yet at that time so I never got past the parking lot. Well, since the redesign of the charging system, Suzi has been behaving herself, so I don't expect a repeat performance.
Lots of distractions today. Things finally settled down to a dull roar. I'm playing wack-a-mole with a Yamaha triple. First it dumped gas out of the center cylinder. I opened it up to find a broken carb body. Well I happened to have a set of carbs to fit that bike so I swapped out the center carb body. Then when I fired the bike up the left cylinder wouldn't idle. Off the carbs come again. I find that the idle mixture screw was tightened down and the needle point on it was jammed into the hole that regulated the air flow. The result is that when the screw is removed the point that is jammed in the hole twists off leaving the hole plugged. Try as I might I couldn't extract the offending point. Well I still had another carb body for that one so I swapped it out. Put it all back together again and fired it up and now it's the center won't idle. The frustration meter is skyrocketing! So now the carbs have to come off yet again! Which carb will mess up next?!? Then it hit me that I need to post a launch time for the Lindsborg mission. If all goes well we will launch from the Rodeway Inn @ 11:00.
