Option 1 this week is an old favorite Romeo spot. The Whistle Stop in Osawatomie has been a place we have visited many times over the past 10 years and they are glad to have us back. They open early and serve breakfast until 11:00 then lunch after 11:00. 9:00 sounds like a good time to me. Hope to see you there.

Option B this week will be Waverly Apple BBQ in Waverly, MO. It’s been awhile since we were there and they are excited to have us back. They no longer serve breakfast, doors open at 11:00. I know some of you have eaten the BBQ and liked it, but the Tuesday special is the tenderloin , sandwich only for 5.99 or sandwich and a side for 8.99, either of which is quite the bargain, drinks are extra. A very good stop is Meierer Orchard and Produce, 19046 Dwarf Lake Road Lexington, MO 64067, 660-259-2548. They are north of 24 hwy just east of Lexington, maybe a couple hundred feet of gravel, nice couple, they have eggs, meats, fruits, every kind of veggie and tomatoes homemade items, too. Peters Market and Rasa both seem to be closed until peaches ripen.
We had 28 this morning at the Whistle Stop for breakfast. I believe most of us wanted to get home before the temps got too high. Food was good but service was slow. It seems there was only one waitress on duty and she had a lot of trouble keeping up. She still did the best she could with no help until most of us had been served. Only got a few pictures this morning. Enjoy what you got before the battery gave out.

We had 8 Romeos and 2 of Wanda's family members at Waverly Apple BBQ today, shade was at a premium for all of us. The tenderloins were great as always, but there were grilled catfish sandwiches, hamburger steak and more, all good. Hot, hot, hot, but we did stop at Meierer Orchards for tomatoes and some zucchini. Thanks for getting out today!
