Our next roundup will be almost like riding to a new Place because it’s been so long since we’ve been there. In the past it has been a delightful cafe and a nice place to ride! Because the bridge has been out on Highway 170 leading to Reading coming from the east, there has been a lengthy detour over the past several months, making it really difficult to get there. Rita has informed me that the bridge is now open and has given me the green light for making our way to the café.

For those of you who haven’t been here you will feel right at home. The owner and staff are so friendly, and the down-home-cooking will make you think you are at your momma’s! They have a new building with air conditioning to keep you cool. There will be a nice homemade salad bar and homemade pies to top off your meal. All these features should make this ride worth your time and make it one you won’t forget!

The weather will be warm so bring your water canteens, and then just don't think about it. "Out of sight out of mind" (it's summer, right)? Although, use your good judgement & be safe, I don't wish anyone a "Heat Stroke"! So, on that happy note I'll sign off for now and hope to see you all there. “Happy Trails until we meet again"!

To my surprise yesterday’s ride was far from being too hot! But I must be honest with you, it was a wet one for the first half of the ride. At least we kept cool, but wet. Although it was a pleasant and gentle kind of rain and made the ride bearable. Larry III will have quite a story to tell you about his ride to Reading when you see him at the next “roundup”!

When Don Spangler & I first arrived, Harold, one of our Romeo Riders from our Eastern Ks. group, was holding a table for us. I mentioned to him that it would probably be just the three of us. But then, surprised again, seven more riders joined us. It was an enjoyable morning all and all. Rita (owner & cook) & Niki, who was our waiter, were so glad to see us. They were thinking we would be a “no-show” for the day.
