I have searched the archives over and cannot find a trace of our being here. But have heard hints and references from others that we have, but just nothing recorded in the archives. From all indications I think we will find good people, good service, and good food at this place. The atmosphere is Italian, old, and historically dated. One review I read states that the meatballs are flavorful, well-seasoned, and bread is baked fresh daily. And I have been told that the dipping oil for the bread is quite yummy.

Unfortunately, we are still in the rainy season and the weather is unpredictable. Nevertheless, we must forge on and make the best of it. So, bring your umbrella, wear your wetsuit, and let's make it a party! The restaurant strongly recommends that we use the southeast entrance when we get there. This leads us into the room where we will be served. “Happy Trails” and looking forward to seeing you all again.

If you check out the ride report for August 22, 2018 you will see the last Eastern Kansas ride to Paolucci’s. The ride was originally scheduled for The Slippery Pig in Effingham but when we arrived that morning we discovered that the darned Kansas”revenuers”had raided the place the day before and seized the cash register and chained the doors shut for non-payment of taxes! So we quickly got on the phone and called Paolucci’s to see if they could serve us on short notice. They obliged so we all saddled up for the short ride over to Atchison for a great lunch!

What a jolly good time we had today! I don’t know about you all, but I managed to make it home before the rain came swooping in. I hope nobody got soaked. We had a good number of us out on such a cold and gloomy day. Mick has posted that we have been here before in Aug 2018. You can read the post here on this thread. It’s quite interesting.

When I arrived at the cafe, I thought there might be a very small bunch of us showing up for lunch. But surprise, surprise, the breakfast crowd had eaten but hadn’t left yet. I thought to myself how thoughtful of them to hang around until the lunch crowd got there. I must say it is always a treat for me to see everyone on each and every ride.

There was some lodging info presented to us by our coordinator, Bob Savner, as to an available room still open at the Petit Jean State Park for next week. Anyone who would be interested in registering can call 501-727-5441 to reserve it.
