South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, April 27, 11:00 AM

Post by roginoz »

I had a request to route us back to Carolyn's, so we're heading to Arlington next week. It's one of our traditional favorites, with excellent service and darned good food, and the weather should be a bit more amenable for riding next week.

Wednesday is fried chicken day; pan fried is definitely the best kind. There is also a full menu of sandwiches and other entrees, and a good little salad bar. Usually there are some cinnamon and caramel sticky rolls left over from breakfast, and a nice selection of pie.

Our ride to and from Carolyn's Essenhaus was a bit lopsided due to the wind. But for me the ride was worth the hassle of a little wind. I had the fried chicken and I was very pleased. Several had chicken fried steak, others salad and more. All delivered promptly, too.

We had 24 riders roll in today. The 24 bikes rumbled 1610 one way miles to the Carolyn's . Top mileage rider was Gram from Augusta with 102 reported miles. All riders rode 55 or more miles, so we had no wimpy rider this week. Several of us ganged up and rode a longer ride back home, wind was no big deal for us :)

See you next week! Photos-

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
