Here's a new place that sounds perfect for a Goldilocks weather day. It maps out to about 90 miles and the temp is forecast to top out at 85. The down side is that it's in the same general direction as a lot of the others. But the reviews are glowing. Speaking of glowing. Seward is 5 miles east of Radium. So if your bike starts glowing green you went to far. Just follow the railroad tracks back for 5 miles. Now all I need to do is figure out where all the left over nuts and bolts on my silver Guzzi go so I have something to ride.
I knew today was going to be, shall we say, less than productive, when I wanted to set out for the weekly think tank at Bayrd's, and as soon as I opened the door I was met with a monsoon. Figuring it was a washout I sat back down and started to plan out my day. Then the rain let up so I thought I'd take my truck. DEAD BATTERY! Well it's no longer raining so I hopped on the bike and headed out. It wasn't raining at home, but it was at Crawford and Broadway. I arrived at Bayrd's wet but not drenched. For such a poor weather day we had quite a large turnout. I managed to snag a chair at the end of the universe and still more came in after me. After we solved all the worlds issues I hoofed over to Advanced Auto to get some gear oil for my transmission and final drive, lest I forget and generate yet another reason to rip the bike apart and throw more money at it. The bike is getting dangerously close to roadworthiness. I just need to hang the exhaust, the luggage rack and the rear tire. That doesn't sound like to much but the way things are going today It probably won't get done. That's not to mention the state extortionary fees and hoops I need to jump through. I just don't have time to get it all done today. So the battle rages on. The war isn't won yet but I'm making headway. I guess I'll just have to nurse the clutch on my blue goose for one more ride. I have the new tire mounted and balanced, which was an adventure in itself. The tire was so far out of balance that I think it would have been quicker to tape a brick to the rim and have it over with. But if need be I can use that wheel on my blue goose for tomorrow.
After all was said and done we decided that we would launch from the Quality Inn @ 11:00.

My road trip planner maps it out at 89.98 miles from our launch site in Salina. Click on the link in my post and it will take you to Mom's Face Book page.

The Google Map link will show you exactly where the B&G is located, and is the same on their Facebook page. The milage depends on your point of origin.
