5/26/17 11:00 LAKEVIEW CAFE FARLINGTON KS.

Post by Duffy »

The cafe at the Farlington Lake has new managers again this year. Several of the people that worked at the Mex. restaurant in Fort Scott now run the cafe at Farlington Lake. It looks good to me. They even have tables outside if the weather is good enough to eat out.

Farlington is located on highway 7 about 7 miles north of Girard Ks or 17 miles south west of Fort Scott Ks. There is a large gravel quarry east of the corner to turn into the park as well as signs. This is the easiest marker to see to find the corner to turn east. There is a fee both at the park that will most likely be closed. However if it is open tell them you are going to the cafe and they should let you in free.

The new menu has both American and Mexican food listed for all three meals. I don't think Tad will need to bring pepper sauce for the meal.

It is tempting to ride around the lake while here and some sites are worth the effort. ButDO NOT TRY TO RIDE ACROSS THE SPILLWAY! You can take Swanee's word for it and how slick it is...DO NOT CROSS THE SPILLWAY!

Well I didn't see or hear of anyone attempting to ride across the spillway today. The Park Ranger told us the spillway is the slickest he has ever seen in his 28 years of service in the park. 22 Romeos on 16 bikes made the trip today. There are several pictures taken today. Hope you enjoy.
