$5 Tenderloins a special for the ROMEOS
At 70 miles from Kansas City, this is a little longer ride than normal, but I want to take advantage of the good weather. It won't be long before it will be too hot and I will be limited to places that serve breakfast. Waverly BBQ serves breakfast and lunch. It is a little unusual for a BBQ to serve breakfast.
The weather is going to be great. I know you can find some interesting places to visit along the way. Waverly is on the river there is a boat ramp on the road that goes north thru town. Check it out.
Here is a link to a map that show all the ROMEO rides for the week. You can see where the other rides are, you can plan a route and see how long the trip is going to take you. Gary D. from Parkville does this for us. It is a lot of work. If you like it and use it tell Gary, thank you.

I was late making my post this week because I was wanting to go to Bucksaw Marina on Truman Lake. When I called, Erik said they might be under water I was shocked. The first picture below is Wanda standing at the top of the walkway leading DOWN to the restaurant. The second pictures show the walkway almost level, straight out. Erik said the the Corp of Engineers has told them to expect 3 more feet by Sunday afternoon. He said that will cover half their parking lot and the water will be a foot deep where Wanda is standing . I thought, WHAT AN ADVENTURE, let's do it, but then common sense prevailed and I decided to wait a week or two.

What a great day. As predicted sunny and in the mid 80's. Even though the weather was nice I thought the long ride might detour a few riders. Wrong I don't know how many we had, but they just kept coming and coming.
I think the ROMITOS from the Smithville area had around 15 in their group. A first time ROMEOs was suppose to catch them along the route. When what he thought was the ROMITOs went by he fell in and brought up the rear. When everyone dismounted at the restaurant he found he had joined another group of ROMEOS He was overwhelmed by the number of ROMEOs and so was I.Probably the long distance riders came from Topeka and Valley Falls.
That's around around 260 miles round trip. Think about it, if we had 70 riders today and we averaged 180 miles round trip. Do you realize that is over 12,000 miles we rode today. That is pretty remarkable. They made a $5 tenderloin special for us and it was really good.
Not beat to death and cooked perfectly. This is Gary and Mary.
Gary is the one who makes the map for us. These "love birds"
Dan and Ellen are leading the Ride Around Iowa. Dan also taught a class on how to use Base Camp with your GPS and he taught it simple enough that even I could understand it. In case you didn't know---this is BOB It finally got warm enough that Doug could ride. His first ride of the season Ted and Penny got a new Gold Wing. Whow isn't it pretty Thanks for coming today. We overwhelmed the Waveryly BBQ They did a great job and you were very patient.
