Re: CHRISTMAS LUNCH 12/13/16 TUES RC'S MARTIN CITY MO
You know I have many concerns about the lunches. Will food be good, will the service be good, will anyone show up. I told them 60 to 70 and I think 66 came to lunch today. Thank you for coming I hope you had a good time.Larry #3 was first to arrive of three that rode motorcycles, Jim G. from Shawnee, Larry III from Valley Falls, KS and Bob S. from Bashor. Larry said it was 17 degrees when he left home. Burrrr But once he got inside it didn't take long for him to warm up.Bob got my award for the neatest Christmas ornament. Leland got the award fell apart the most often. When we left they were still wondering who lost all those earrings Penny has the pretiest smile but I caught her at the wong time. I was going to leave this out but it was the only picture I had of her.I was proud to have our daughter with us today. She lives in London and is here for ChristmasI talk to alot of restaurants setting up these lunches, but I have never dealt with people more helpful than at RC's. This is Gina VanNoy, part of this family owned business who made sure the ROMEOs were happy and she did it.George was concerned that since the waitresses were starting at the other end of the table that wouldn't get any food. Since Mick WAS at the other end of the table and had PLENTY of food, he generously gave George a WING My favorite outlaw band the ROMITOS made it in from way up northI would be remissed if I didn't congratulate Slina and Leland on being married SIXY-ONE years. That is a wonderful thing and I want to wish them many many more years of good health and happiness. I am sure Wanda and Bob will have some pictures to add. If you took some pictures please feel to share yours too. I saw alot of pictures being takenWe filled the room and added another table. It is not official but I think we had 66 at lunch today. I can't thank you enough for coming.I assumed that when Harold was growing up he never got all the DRUM STICKS he wanted. He said "Oh no that wasn't the case at all." He said "I AM A LEG MAN Someone looked at Gail's take home and said "I guess your don't have to cook tonight?" To which Gail said "No!, Now I don't have to cook Christmas diner" Trish brought me some of her homemade peanut brittle, which I thank her for, but it never made it home. Reports were, that is was the best peanut brittle they had ever tastedMr Van Noy came out of the kitchen, covered in flour, to thank us for choosing RC's. We gave them a "hand" and they gave us a "hand"Evedently we have some real friend chicken lovers in the group. They designated this as the perfect plate.
As we look forward to another great year in 2017! Melissa and I (and Pam) wish you and yours a very MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Oh I have a post script.
Everytime I turn around I find someone else who is heading to south Texas. (Today it was Bob, Wanda, Leland, Slina, Lee and Verna. We must be up to near 30 now ) But I digress. I sent the picture above of Larry arriving all bundled up to Doug E. who is already in South Texas and who refuses to ride when it is below 60 and I immediately got this picture in return
