This is a new place and we have to give credit or blame to Kenny from Butler. I am not worried becasue Kenny knows good food. I looked at their menu online and it looks like they have some real good food.
It is fall and fall is apple time. Alma is not far from the largest orchard in Missouri, Peter's Orchard in Waverly. We have been there before and really liked it. Check out Bob and others great pictures http://www.romeoriders.com/forums/viewt ... erly#p7566

Nice place, nice ride to breakfast or lunch and apples at Peter's Market afterwords! We enjoyed the cafe and even though the was only one waitress, service was not bad at all. Roger was pushing pies and fresh baked bread till they banned him from the kitchen. Melissa helped with coffee and no one complained about anything, that we heard anyway. Peters market was busy but fun as always. Really good to see the Polish Prince with Norm today, sorry for the loss of your 101 year old aunt, Frank, but glad you are joining us again. The wind picked up pushing ahead of tonight's storm, but still another "Great day to be a Romeo."Our "only" waitress worked so hard so was about to have a "heart attack" rr
Re: CATHY'S COUNTRY RESTAURANT, ALMA, MO 10/4/16
So far I haven't heard that anyone went to ALMA, KS and that is a good thing. But there were lots that came to ALMA, MO., and were they happy. WHEN I pick a place that is not too good or the service is not so good I get a lot of credit, but when a place is as good as Cathy's everyone wants to take credit. At first it was Randy, but he said he would have to share with Kenny. Then Melissa comes up and tells me it was Junior So I guess I really don't know who to give credit to, but I know one thing NO ONE WAS BLAMING ME FOR ANYTHING Thanks for helping me find these good places.Randy said "sure I picked it" and Carol said "I am not too sure"Kenny said "No it was me" and Gary said "There you go again" and everyone knew it was Junior We miss Denny and Junior brought a card for all of us to sign. He reported that Denny is doing well and looks forward to joining us again soon.Cathy's mom did all the baking. The pies tasted as good as they looked.and the good food was prepared by Cathy. Truly a family affair.Don has signed and is passing the card around for Denny. Jim said "I ain't signing no stinkin' card. Melissa said the gooseberry pie was the best, but George said with puckered up mouth "How can you eat the tart thing "There were a lot of SMILES today and these were a couple of the best. As usual all the ROMEOs got a "discount" for their great attitude. Thank you.This is the pumpkin Melissa wanted Thank goodness we were on a motorcycle Then she wanted the MUM "TRUE LOVE"She knows just about what a Gold Wing can hold We were surprised at how far harvest was along. Our guess was around Alma corn was almost through and beans were just getting started. Coming back into Jackson County around Grain Valley the soybeans were still green and the corn harvest had just begun.The Missouri River is really close to downtown Waverly.
Above I posted a map showing that 224 was closed. Berg told me it was open. So we tried to go home that way. What do you think Melissa was not happy when I passed the ROAD CLOSED sign and I am still hearing about it. BERG

Retired Old Men Eating Out,
Thursday, let's take a 46 mile ride & go to the;
Nu Grille
24 N National
Fort Scott KS
620-223-9949
ksu 8:00 am @ FCC
We've been here before & it is a good place. The weather has been looking a bit iffy, but at this time it looks like the rain is forecast for the afternoon, so we should be all right. We can take the most direct way, 160 over to 43, up to 54 & over to Ft. Scott. There is a chance that we may see some of the KS Romeos there also.
Please remember that "the best of plans are made to change". I'll keep you posted. Also, Frank Bell will probably be driving his "cage", so he would probably welcome to anyone to ride with him if you would want to.
See you there,
Joe
