Harold's Smokehouse is attached to the Freeman Market and gas station about 1 1/2 miles east of Freeman, Mo at the junction of 2 hwy and 'C'. Harold's serves BBQ and other menu items, Tuesdays special is tacos, they DO NOT serve breakfast, doors open at 11:00. There is a two story house inside the restaurant with display rooms, a lounge downstairs and meeting rooms and a balcony upstairs. A really good ride is 'O' hwy south from the blinking light in Freeman to 'A' near Drexal. Roger, Randy and Gary are all out riding so they let me post one.

Roger we missed you, but, oh Margret, what a great turn out! We counted 71 plus Romeos and 69 Plus bikes. Harold Kruse doesn't advertise much, so a lot of you had gotten gas there (no ethanol premium) and didn't know about the BBQ. Even though it was 'taco tuesday' I think only a couple had them or something other than BBQ. All the comments on food and service were very positive, most of what I heard was the food was very good and the service, even though we came in together, was great. A big thank you to all the waitresses for their hard work. We had some first timers, Bob D. from Truman Lake and Chris C. from Stanley, Ks.
That little sign is the only advertisement for the Smokehouse.

Nice place, nice pics, nice post Bob! Roger and I actually stopped by and visited there 4 years or more ago when it was under construction. Harold gave us a first class tour and told us the story of how he came to have the idea and pull it together. Looks like it really turned out well, hope you all get back there again.

Nice to see everyone's smiling faces!

I agree, Bob picked a great place which we will obviously put on our "great places" for a Romeo return visit. We thought the staff did quite well considering the mass arrival of our group. Mary & I arrived a little late and still found lots of room and surprised to meet our friend Chris attending his first Romeo lunch. I think he was impressed even though his friend couldn't find the place and gave up unfortunately. Hope both he and Chris take advantage of the Romeo Map we add to each week;s post. We took Holmes back to MO150 but got caught in a long traffic jam on the Bruce R. Watkins highway due to a stalled bus. Oh well, good thing the temperatures were still in the 80's. Thanks to Bob who did a great job coordinating today's lunch. :D :D

What a neat place. I am sorry I wasn't with you. It looks like you filled the restaurant. Harold had to be pleased. :D

I think the thing that made me the happiest was seeing Paul on his new Spyder!! Congratulations Paul :!: It has been a long haul, but you persisted. I am so happy for you.

Melissa and I are having a wonderful trip. Yesterday we saw Old Faithful, fields of potatoes in Idaho, a moose, and a beautiful sunset in the Grand Teton National Park.I didn't know we would go through IDAHO, but it added a state, and don't know why but we were excited to see all the fields of potatoes and the Tetons in the background.
This was our best picture of a moose.I have to agree with what you guys have told me, Beartooth and Chief Joseph are the best!!We stayed at the Jackson Lake Lodge in the Teton Park and this was the view from our room. We enjoyed the sunset so much that we set an alarm and got up for sunrise. It was unbelieveable. We just laid in bed and enjoyed every minute of it. It was truly hard to leave.
