Sue said it is TACO Tuesday, but anything on the menu is fair game, chicken fingers, hot beef, tenderloin, pies aplenty, gooseberry, peanut butter, apple, peach and of course coconut cream  So bring an appetite and and save room for dessert.

All the rides for this week http://tinyurl.com/Romeo-Rides-This-Week

It looks like we are going to have our SECOND :o good riding day of the year, 72 degrees and partly cloudy. Boy, it was hard for me to pick a place. I like to pick new places but it is hard to pass up a "sure thing" ;) We really help these people and they truly appreciate our patronage. This was the first cafe to purchase ROMEO shirts. I have received emails from guys who have stopped in at the Corner Cafe when they were just our riding around. When they ask the "ladies" about the shirts the dialogue begins and usually ends with me getting an email wondering when we are going back to Gallatin. It is kinda like Hume, a WIN - WIN for everyone :P

A neat town, the County Seat, with the downtown built on the Square

I also picked Gallatin because there are a lot of good roads up that way, so get out your map and be creative, enjoy. I hope you don't waste these good days. Before you know it we will be wanting breakfast rides because it is too hot!! Don't forget to check out where the other Romeo groups are going. They haven't posted yet, but it won't be long. I was thinking about the Northern Arkansas Group :?: They are just getting started, and I have noticed they have gone to some real neat places :?:

Made it back late afternoon after a real good ride home. The weather was perfect today with temps in the 70s, no wind and plenty of sun. Very good turnout today with two new riders and a rider that we hadn't seen for a while. Tom was up from Gravois Mills riding near 200 miles to have lunch with us today. What a great bunch of friends to have. Roger you picked a good one today. Good food, good service and good times. I got a few pictures today, hope you enjoy.

Proud to be a Romeo,
Randy

Sue gave every ROMEO a key ring today. There is no doubt there is a place in OUR HEART FOR SUE and her crew. ;)

Randy did such a good job I really shouldn't add anything, but I just can't resist.

This is just half the crowd. I really didn't expect anything like this. Gallatin is 90 miles from Kansas City!! :o

It was the first time we had seen Tom F. this year. 164 miles, up from Gravois Mills, MO Down by the Lake of the Ozarks. ;) There is a reason Tom has that extra gas tank on his bike. Someone said it wasn't a gas tank---it was a keg :!: I don't think so. Great to see you Tom.

John just returned from a cruise through the Panama Canal. It was great to hear his stories. This is something most of us will never have the opportunity to do. John said his ship entered the first lock at 8 in the morning and didn't get through the canal till 4 in the afternoon. He said it cost the ship he was on $496,000 to go through the canal :o John thanks for sharing.

When it comes to miles on a scooter no one can beat AL

Now that is one good looking machine :!: Yeah, that old red thing behind it is no slouch.

Thanks for inviting everyone Mike, we had a good time.

Always good to see Jim and Brad. I missed Mrs. Bishop :(

Gallatin is a really friendly town. It seemed like everyone we saw made an effort to say hi and thank us for coming to Gallatin. I hadn't taken my helmet off until the local minister came over and said hi and thanked us for coming as he moved his car to make room for more bikes. Sue (owner of the Corner Cafe) had contacted the local newspaper and pictures and interviews were taken for the local paper. Next year the Moving Vietnam Wall http://www.themovingwall.org/ is coming to Gallatin and the ROMEOS have been asked to escort it from Hamilton t0 its Six day stopping place in Gallatin. (This is next for next year 2014!! Let me know if you think that is something we should consider) Another Town Ambassador told us that next time we came they would open the Jail for us :o Just kidding, they have a unique jail where all the cells turn like on a "lazy susan"

I never have had so many compliments on the food, breakfast or lunch. And the service was great. Those ladies did bring out the food. You know I never went back to the kitchen. Randy said they must have someone real good back there, and he is right. Hats off to the COOK!!

I got a nice note from Randy that I don't think he will mind if I share
Roger

There are already 253 hits on the ride to Corner Café today and 500 hits on the ride to Sisters and Friends in Hume last week. There are a lot of people out there wishing they were with us.

I stopped at Lowes in Raymore today on the way home to get some paint. Another customer saw my shirt and asked if I rode with the KC Romeos. He said he is retiring in about 6 years and wants to ride with us. He looks at the website each week to see where we are going wishing he could be riding with us. He really enjoys seeing the pictures and how much fun we are having. I gave him my name and number and invited him to keep in touch and if he has a day off or is on vacation sometime he is always welcome. He said for the time being he will just keep on watching.

ROMEO Must Ride and Dine
About 40 motorcycles from the ROMEO club were in Gallatin on May 7. The motorcyclists had lunch at Corner Café for the second year in a row because they liked it so much the first time. ROMEO stands for Retired Old Motorcyclists Eating Out. Roger Shores of Leawood, Kan., is the ride coordinator. He said ROMEO has no dues, no officers, no rules and regulations, and he has no----

On the Spring Rendezvous Bucky always recognizes ROMEOs that are special and go that extra mile for someone else. I think that is a real nice thing he does and we have some Romeos that do some very special things. I want to take a few lines to mention so real nice people, the UNSUNG HEROS. I think it was within the last year that a van pulled out to pass a car and Paul H. hit it head on. He went completely under the van. Unbelievable as may seem he only lost a leg. Paul is doing remarkably well, but I want to call attention to Dan D. Ever since Paul has been able, Dan has made sure that Paul has never missed a ROMEO lunch. Dan that is a wonderful thing. Something I probably would never do, but if I was in Paul's situation I would hope I had an Angel like you.
