We were in Beaumont a few months ago, but I'd like to get back before cold weather and their winter hours limit our options. The food's always good, and the people at the Beaumont Hotel appreciate seeing the ROMEOs. As an added benefit, we may get to view some fall color in the Flint Hills on the ride out and back.
The current forecast calls for a high of sixty-three next Wednesday, but that won't come until about 4:00 in the afternoon. We'll see temperatures in the forties and fifties during our ride, so bundle up. (Virtually no chance of rain, though.)
Beaumont is just south of US 400, about forty-five miles east of Wichita near the Butler/Greenwood county line. It's a pleasant ride through the tail end of the Flint Hills, and the road through Latham and Cambridge is a nice detour on the way home if you want to get in a few more miles.
For those of you who arrive early, the Beaumont Hotel serves breakfast until 11:00. I think I'll wait for lunch, as they usually have a pretty decent daily special. (And there's always my old favorite, the club sandwich, to fall back on.)

Re: South Central Lunch: Wednesday, November 1, 11:00 AM
It was a bit cooler than I originally anticipated, but sixteen of us (on thirteen motorcycles) rode 819 total one-way miles to the Beaumont Hotel. Brian and I were among the last to arrive; it appears that a good number of the group opted for the breakfast menu. The meatloaf special was good, as was the ride home through Latham, Douglas, and other points south and west.
I saw Charlie, so I'm sure he had a camera with him. Check back for photos if they're not up when you read this. I'll get next week's ride posted by Sunday, after I check the long range weather forecast. We may need to start moving closer in, once the cold weather catches up with us.

Roger and Brian must have been behind Dale and I, as we too rolled the Latham-Douglass pavement to home today.
