South Central LUNCH Ride: Wednesday, September 6, 11:00 AM

Post by roginoz »

REMEMBER: WE'RE SWITCHING BACK TO LUNCH RIDES THIS WEEK!

We'll be switching back to lunch rides starting this week; a good time to visit an old favorite we haven't been to in a while. The Dutch Kitchen has good food, plenty of room, and a few choices on routes to get you there and home. They serve breakfast until 10:30, in case some of you early birds still have a hankering for eggs or biscuits and gravy (which are pretty darned tasty.)

Right now, the weather looks good: sixty-six degrees at 10:00 AM, seventy-one at noon. Light winds, and sunny with no chance of rain. Sounds like a good day to ride, maybe time to put the liner back in the mesh jacket and get out the long sleeved ROMEO shirt.

The official address says Hutchinson, but the Dutch Kitchen is located in Pleasantview, which really isn't a town. It's a little bit southwest of Hutchinson, on Highway 50 (where 50 and 61 run together for a short distance.) It's about fifty-five miles from Wichita. If you haven't been there before, look for a bunch of motorcycles parked at a restaurant on the south side of Highway 50/61.

TIME:

11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 6

Dutch Kitchen Restaurant
6803 W. Highway 61

I assume everyone had a good time while I was at the dentist's office this morning; thanks to Brian for carrying the book. There were forty-one people, on thirty-seven bikes at the Dutch Kitchen. The bikes traveled a total of 2192 miles, one way, to Pleasantview. I assume that Charlie will have some photos up soon. I'll post next week's ride, for those of you who aren't going to the ROMEOs Rendezvous at the Hub, in the next couple of days.

Photos- I absolutely forgot a bike of the week.
Great group today, only 2 were there when we arrived. But more came, then more and still more. We filled the back room and over-flowed to the front. Full moon tonight, last pic

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
