South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, April 5, 11:00 AM

Post by roginoz »

It's been six months since we last rode to Anthony. Time for the pizza and salad buffet at Kristy's. There are also sandwiches, which are excellent, but take a bit longer. Everyone seems to like the food, it’s a nice trip down there, and the staff and locals are always friendly.

It looks like we may be stuck in the monsoon season for a while, and the forecast got worse between the last time I checked it and the time I called next Wednesday's destination to let them know we're coming. It's about sixty miles to Anthony from Wichita. If the weather turns out better than expected, ride. If it's cold and rainy, consider arriving on four wheels. I'm going no matter what.

They normally start lunch at 11:00, but they usually let us in a bit sooner. I guess that they remember that some of us arrive early, and it will allow us to eat before the locals start showing up.

11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 5

We had our smallest turnout of the year today: five guys, two motorcycles, one car and one truck. Ron and Chuck rode their bikes a total of 142 miles, round trip, to Anthony. The group was small, but we had some good conversation, and the food was excellent. No photos this time, but I'll get next week's ride posted by Sunday.
