South Central ROMEO Lunch Ride: Wednesday, March 22, 11:00 AM

Post by roginoz »

This will be the first ride of spring for the South Central Kansas ROMEOs; lunch at Mom's sounds like a good way to celebrate the passing of winter. It's only thirty miles to Whitewater, but we can always take the long way home if the weather is particularly good. Right now the Weather Channel is calling for a high of sixty-five, with winds at sixteen, and the rain is expected to hold off until Thursday.

Mom's Cafe is a bit small, but there should be room for the numbers we'll have this time of year. The Wednesday specials are pan fried chicken and roast pork, but there are plenty of other choices on the menu. They serve breakfast (which is also pretty good) until 10:30, for those of you who arrive early. (And, there's homemade jam and jelly to go on your toast...)

Not too terribly cold this morning, but the clouds were starting to move in; it was pretty well overcast when we left, but we didn't encounter any rain on the way back. The food at Mom's was good, as usual. Most of the guys (and gal) showed up early and were eating breakfast when Brian and I arrived a little after 10:30.

We had nineteen people, and nineteen bikes, at Mom's today. The bikes (and the people...) traveled a total of 770 miles, one-way, to Whitewater. Charlie will have photos posted soon, so check back if they're not here when you read this. I may wait until Saturday or Sunday to post next week's ride, as there's a possibility for rain in the current long range forecast. Waiting a few days should give us a little more accuracy. If it's going to be wet, I'll keep the ride in close.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
