The last South Central ROMEO ride of 2016.
Our last visit to Sugar Shane's in Augusta was in March. I've had a request from some of the guys to return, and Shane and Tonya have invited us back. (We must have behaved pretty well last time...) The food has been great, and they are really appreciative of our business.
Augusta is only about twenty miles from Wichita; close enough for a cold weather ride, but far enough that it's worth putting on all the gear. Next week looks like it will be a bit warmer, and all the snow should be gone by then. If it turns out to be too cold or nasty, it's a short trip on four wheels.
Sugar Shane's is located at the corner of 5th and State in Augusta. There's a good sized room on the south side, and we can spill over into the other areas if need be. (We pretty well packed the place the last two times, but our winter turnouts are a bit more modest.)
The menu is pretty varied: sandwiches and wraps, pizza, pasta, meatloaf, etc. The meatloaf sandwich I had the first time was excellent (and big,) and the chicken fried steak I had last time was also pretty good. Everyone ought to find something to their liking. They don't open until 11:00, so if you're one of the early birds you can do some tire kicking beforehand.
The Twisted Oz Motorcycle Museum is nearby, at 601 W 7th. (the south side of US400, just east of the Wal-Mart.) They aren't normally open on Wednesdays, but will open for us if anyone wants to stop by after lunch. If some of you are interested, I can call them from Shane's.

We had really good weather, and a really good turnout. Thirty-two people, on thirty bikes, traveling 1033 miles (one-way) to Sugar Shane's in Augusta. Charlie will have some photos up in a bit, and I'll get next week's ride announcement posted in a couple of days.

Good food, but the coffee was cold
