North Central ROMEO Saturday Breakfast ride 10/7/17

Post by Roadpounder »

Well, since Wednesday's ride was a bust for the weather, :( it was suggested to me that we do a Saturday breakfast ride. Saturday is the next day with a reasonable forecast. TORNADO ALLEY LANES was put forth so I set it up. I hear they have a pretty good breakfast.

I'm going a little shack wacky so I'll definitely be going on this one. Let's launch from Casey's on Ohio & Iron at 8:30.

After being rained out on Wednesday I was about to go comatose from cabin fever.
As I shook the cobwebs out I kept one eye on the TV and the other on the clock. Still a little cool for Leo I got the bike out and gathered all my toys to set out for Casey's. I rolled up to find John waiting, wondering if anyone else was going to show. Soon several more arrived and the time came to head out. With Jim in the lead we took a different route than I expected. But that's usually the case. We rolled out Country Club Road all the way to K15 to mount our assault from the south. I had a rough idea where this place was but It's not likely I would have found it, left to my own devices. Although their sign is prominently on display on the main drag, their location is a little off the beaten track. And as those of you who know me are well aware, I never get lost. I just take the long way. As usual we arrived to the sight of several others already there. Most bikes I recognized but a few were new. I got the photo thing done and sat down to what I hoped would be a good breakfast. The staff was putting forth their best effort to get everyone fed in a timely manor. Their special was biscuits and gravy, and I expected standard fare. I was surprised to find their recipe to be a cut above and it was quite tasty and generous. All bellies full we wandered out to kick some more tires before heading home. Being a little lethargic from a combination of early morning grogginess, and an overstuffed belly I shared a few tales with a few others then mounted up to head home. I reversed the expected route and took old K40 back to Salina.
