LUNCH 11 AM August 23, Marilynn's Place, Osage City, KS

Post by schoolmaster »

I can't believe that it's been so long since we had a ride to Osage City. Marilynn's is such a popular pie stop that several of us have been there quite a few times for pie, but I think it's high time we scheduled an official lunch ride to:

Marilynn's Place
1216 Laing
Osage City, KS 66523
785.528.3769

They are open early for breakfast and start serving lunch around 11. We'll plan on meeting for lunch but if you want to go early and get your egg fix then that works too. I don't know what the lunch special will be next Wednesday but the food is always great here so I'm sure it will be good eatin'. The pie here is also among the best around so you could get your pie here unless that breaks the rule about having lunch and pie all at the same place! So I'll see you around 10:30 or so next Wednesday.

I'll also post this in a separate post but a couple of people have asked about attending Rod Damme's funeral next Tuesday in Perry at the American Legion. The family would love to have ROMEOS in attendance ride our bikes and wear our ROMEO shirts and sit together if possible. They will also have a time for friends to speak so if anyone wants to offer remarks they will be welcome to do so. The funeral is at 10 AM so I would recommend that if you plan to ride and attend the funeral that we meet in the parking lot of the Legion a little after 9:30 and then we can go in as a group. I plan to attend so I'll see any of you that come around 9:30 ish on Tuesday morning.

GREAT DAY TO BE A ROMEO! And according to Hozer between 50 and 60 agreed after they rode to Osage City for lunch at Marilynn's Place.
Perfect riding weather, good restaurant and a great shaded parking lot to hang out and visit.

In case you didn't get enough of Marilynn's, here's the setup for the rest of the week.

Several of you asked about Rod's funeral. About 12 ROMEOS attended and the family seated us right behind them. They also asked us to provide an escort to the cemetery so we lined up behind the family van and in front of the hearse and accompanied them to the turnoff for the cemetery road. Thanks to those who attended and provided Rod with a proper recognition. Rod's smile and friendly demeanor will be missed. Again, our condolences to Rod's family!
