Though 3 forecasts are saying the high will likely be in the 50's, and all the nasty stuff arriving this weekend should be gone, we won't go far off again since after all it is January. Here's an easy to find place --some might say a Lawrence landmark-- that we haven't been to in almost exactly a year. Slow Ride does not open doors 'til 1100 on Wednesdays but when they do their chicken fried steak special is worth the wait. And if that's not your cup o'tea (not sure what sort of look you'd get if you did order a tea in a cup there) they do have all the other staples of tavern food you can order from the menu. Hopefully it'll be another day suitable for getting out bikes again, then a little pie-hunting and/or just riding around if it's really nice. Whatever the weather and whatever kinda wheels you ride in on we'll see ya at:

Ride Report: Jan. 18, Slow Ride Roadhouse, Lawrence, Ks.
Had a dozen bikes today which was not bad considering that sub-freezing temps earlier in the morning, along with reports of heavy fog and even slick spots in some areas, put quite a few ROMEO's in a cage to slowly ride to the Slow Ride. Head count was something over 20 in all. It did warm up, at least into the upper 40's, and it was a really nice day by the time we were all stuffed with chicken fried steak and other tasty fare. I had to get back to Topeka but I think some pies were attacked afterward somewhere in northeast Kansas. Another great dead-of-winter day to be a ROMEO, and Bucky will be setting up a ride for next week. Hope the weather's decent again though I'll be a ways south of here. A few pics:
