LUNCH 11 AM January 4 Perry Bar & Grill, Perry, KS

Post by schoolmaster »

Welcome to the first ride of 2017! I'll be back in town after all the holiday hoopla and ready to settle back into the normal routine. It looks like we're back into normal winter weather next week, sunny with highs in the 20's so it's probably a good time to go to a place with great comfort food in a pretty centrally located town for most of us. If you want to plug in or really bundle up you probably can make this on two wheels, but it's close enough for you to come on 2 or 4 wheels and turn on your heater and no one will make fun of you. We seem to hit this place about once a year, usually around the holidays so I guess it's time to go again.

This is the place:

Perry Bar & Grill
215 E. Front St.
Perry, KS
785.597.5295

Here are some pics from our visit in December of 2014:

They don't open until 11:00 so unless you want to sit in your pickup and listen to your heater run, it's probably not a good idea to show up real early.

And for those of you who haven't seen it posted, Mike Herrmann is hosting a ride for New Year's Day!

Happy New Year one and all!
The Oatmeal Gang (and associates), were discussing the "not having" the annual, traditional, Romeo ride on New Years Day, and decided we need to have one. Our plan is to go to Green Acres in Vasser, Ks. as always. Yes, I know we were just there, but that's OK--this traditional ride is special. We were planning a LUNCH ride, looking at about 11:00 or so. The weather looks to be good, a little cool to start, but in the upper 40's as the day wears on--but "cool" is no step for a stepper-right?!
Anyway, you are all invited to join us, and as always, no dues or membership fee's required.

So there you go. Plenty of chances to see your ROMEO friends and eat lunch. Hope to see you next Wednesday in Perry for our first ROMEO Wednesday lunch of 2017!

They are very careful about who they let in here. Just like airport security.

RIDE REPORT: January 4 Perry Bar & Grill, Perry, KS

Post by schoolmaster »

It was a great turnout for the first ROMEO ride of 2017. Twenty folks showed up for lunch at the Perry Bar and Grill and 5 of them were on motorcycles. It was a balmy 16 degrees to start out the morning so Mike, Jim, Don, Allen, and Larry #3 thought it would be a good idea to get out and ride!

When we arrived a little before 11, guys still congregated outside the locked door and waited, and waited, and waited. Then someone had the bright idea to use the door on the side that was unlocked and we walked right in to the nice warm restaurant. Duh...

Although the food was a little slow to come out, they finally got rolling and we all got fed, and as usual the food was really good. Except I think there was something wrong with Larry #2's order, but, oh well...

So I think everyone had a good time seeing everyone after the holidays and it was good to get back in the groove. It was a great day to be a ROMEO for sure, and if you believe the long range forecast, we might have a day or two in the 50's next week to ride. Sure hope so!!

Bucky recalled that the pork tenderloin he had last time we were here was pretty good, and his memory served him well.
